The Qualcomm Robotics RB6 Developer kit is compliant with 96Boards, AWS RoboMaker and ROS (Robot Operating System). As the RB5 devkit, it also supports mezzanine-board expansion, like the vision mezzanine, AI mezzanine and 5G one. Currently, Thundercomm sells only Standard version, that comes with both vision and AI mezzanine. This standard version can be bought with 70 TOPS or 200 TOPS, that dependes on the AIC module [1]. Figure 1 shows the main parts of the developer kit.

Developer Kit Components

  • QRB5165N SOM board.
  • Qualcomm Robotics RB6 mainboard.
  • Vision Mezzanine board.
  • AI Mezzanine board.
  • Mezzanine expansion connectors.
  • AIC100 module
  • Wall power adapter.


Now, we are going to overview the key components available in the Qualcomm Robotics RB6 developer kit.

Main carrier board

The mainboard includes the following components.

Power

  • 1x +12V DC Power jack

Storage

  • 1x MicroSD card slot

Ethernet

  • 1x RJ45 Ethernet connector

Wireless

  • 2x 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi/Bluetooth antennas

USB

  • 1x Micro USB for debugging
  • 1x USB Type-C 3.0
  • 2x USB Type-A 3.0

Display

  • 1x HDMI 1.4 Type-A, up to 4K@60Hz with audio

Audio

  • 2x Class-D Qualcomm WSA8815 Amplifiers
  • 1x PDM digital MEMS microphone


Vision Mezzanine

The Vision mezzanine board includes the following components:

Camera

  • 1x Main camera sensor IMX577
    • Interface: MIPI
    • Resolution/fps: 4056x3040/60fps
  • 1x Tracking camera sensor OV9282
    • Interface: MIPI
    • Resolution/fps: 1280x800/120fps or 640x480/180fps
  • 2x GMSL2 camera inputs


AI Mezzanine

  • AIC100 module: Qualcomm Cloud AI 100.
