The Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Developer Kit was built to be compliant with the 96Boards open hardware specification to support mezzanine-board expansions, and offers support for Linux, Ubuntu, ROS (Robot Operating System) 2 and AWS RoboMaker. The kit comes in two versions, the Core kit and the Vision Kit [1]. Figure 1 shows the main parts of the developer kit.

Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Core Kit includes:

  • The mainboard with the RB5 SoM
  • Wall power adapter.
  • USB Type-C cable.


Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Vision Kit includes:

  • Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Core Kit with Vision mezzanine, tracking and main camera attached.

The mainboard includes the following components. Numbers inside parenthesis match with the numbers in Figures 2-7:

  • 1x Tracking camera sensor OV9282 (8)
    • Interface: MIPI
    • Resolution/fps: 1280x800/120fps or 640x480/180fps
  • 2x GMSL2 camera inputs (11)


The Qualcomm Robotics RB5 board also supports the following camera sensors:

  • Intel Realsense D435i
  • MN34906
  • ON SEMI AR0231 Sensor
