In this section, you are going to learn about the carrier boards currently available for the Orin SoM.
The carrier board is the piece of hardware that offers the physical interfaces to use the Orin, the Orin SoM is connected to the carrier board using its 699-pin connector. Many customers start evaluating the Jetson SoMs using the developer kits offered by NVIDIA, and then once they have determined that this SoM meets their project requirements they proceed to design their custom carrier board or choose one of the carrier boards available in the market. Currently, there are two carrier boards designed for the Orin AGX:
- NVIDIA Orin developer kit is the carrier board offered by NVIDIA as the Orin developer kit. Figure 1 shows the NVIDIA's developer kit for the Orin:
- Auvidea’s X230D is a carrier for the Orin AGX 32 GB with heatsink, fan, and optionally NVME SSD.
- Connect Tech’s Forge is a carrier with a small footprint, designed for commercial deployment sold by Connect Tech.
