Thundercomm TurboX C8550 - Setting up Board in 9008 Mode

In this section we will explain the steps on how to setup the board in the 9008 Mode[1]. 9008 Mode (also known as EDL) is used for recovering/flashing the board over USB.

Note
Please read every step before starting.

To enter 9008 mode, follow the next steps related to the hardware pieces highlighted in Figure 1.

1. Power off the board by disconnecting the power cable and USB cable.

2. Press and hold the Force USB Boot button.

3. Connect the power cable to the board using the Power In port.

4. Long-press (3 seconds) the Power Button on the board.

5. Connect the board to the PC with a USB Type-C cable using the USB Type C port.

6. Wait for 3 seconds, and then release the Force USB Boot button.

7. Execute lsusb in the terminal, if you get something similar to the following output, the connection was successful:

Bus 002 Device 021: ID 05c6:9008 Qualcomm, Inc. Gobi Wireless Modem (QDL mode)

Now you can proceed to the Flashing the Images section to flash your FlatBuild image.
