In this section, you will find a guide to preparing JetPack 7.2 on your host computer and installing it on your Jetson AGX Orin. This section assumes that you already have the NVIDIA SDK Manager installed. To learn about the SDK Manager, check our Getting Started section.
The following subsections show the four-step procedure to prepare the host environment and install JetPack 7.2 on your target device: Figures 1 and 2 show JetPack 7.2.1 before the SDK version is changed. Select JetPack 7.2 as shown in Figure 3.
STEP 01: Development Environment
1. Launch the SDK Manager UI by running the following command in a terminal:
sdkmanager
At this point, you should see the login window. After logging in, you should see the configuration options for your environment similar to Figure 1 below.

2. Select the Jetson product category. The categories and SDK versions shown depend on your SDK Manager version and NVIDIA account access.
3. Select the Jetson AGX Orin modules as your target hardware. This option should appear under the Target Hardware dropdown list, such as in Figure 2. Optionally, you can also select the Host Machine option to have options for the installation of some developer tools on your host machine in Step 2. Both Host Machine and Jetson AGX Orin options can be selected simultaneously.

4. Select JetPack 7.2 from the SDK Version dropdown list. Figure 3 shows JetPack 7.2 selected in the version list. If an installation method is offered, select Direct Flash for this host-driven workflow.

5. Optionally select any Additional SDKs offered for your target hardware and JetPack 7.2. Figure 4 illustrates where these options appear; the available SDKs may differ from the screenshot.

6. When you are ready, click the CONTINUE TO STEP 02 button.
STEP 02: Details and License
1. Review the software components offered for your host computer and Orin target. Select the OS and SDK components required for your installation. Figure 5 shows the package-selection screen for JetPack 7.2.

2. Review the Download and Target HW image folders at the bottom of the screen and change them if needed. Use the paths displayed by SDK Manager for your installation; Figure 5 shows the download and installation folder settings.
3. When you are ready, mark the checkbox with the option: I accept the terms and conditions of the license agreement, similarly to Figure 5, and then press the button CONTINUE TO STEP 03.
4. At this point, the SDK Manager will ask for your sudo password to be able to install the JetPack SDK components, as shown in Figure 6.

STEP 03: Setup Process
1. Now the SDK Manager will start downloading and setting the required components. You should see a window similar to Figure 7.

2. Once SDK Manager finishes preparing the host environment, follow its flashing prompt for the selected board and storage device. Figure 8 shows the flashing prompt for the Jetson AGX Orin module. Follow the recovery-mode instructions displayed for your target. If you want to customize the kernel or device tree before flashing, see Compiling Source Code and Flashing the Board from Cmdline.

3. After flashing, complete the initial setup on the Jetson if prompted. Enter the target credentials in SDK Manager to finish installing the selected SDK components.
STEP 04: Summary Finalization
1. Review the summary of installed host and target components. Check for warnings or failures before closing SDK Manager. Figure 9 illustrates the summary screen. Export debug logs if you need to investigate a failed component.
