NVIDIA Jetson Xavier Long-Term Kernel Support
NVIDIA will end support for Jetson Xavier platforms in 2026. After that date, Xavier-based products will no longer receive official kernel maintenance, security updates, or bug fixes from NVIDIA. For many organizations, migrating to newer platforms such as Jetson Orin is not a practical option. Replacing deployed hardware can be costly, introduce technical risk, require product revalidation, and disrupt existing deployments.
However, deployed Xavier systems will continue to require maintenance, including:
- Security vulnerability fixes (CVEs)
- Critical bug fixes
- Long-term kernel updates
- Continued support for deployed hardware
To address this challenge, RidgeRun extends kernel support for Jetson Xavier platforms beyond NVIDIA's official End-of-Life date by leveraging the long-term maintenance provided by the Civil Infrastructure Platform (CIP) project. This approach allows organizations to continue maintaining Xavier-based products without replacing existing hardware, extending the useful life of their systems for up to 10 additional years.
This wiki describes the supported platforms, available features, maintenance scope, and long-term support strategy provided by RidgeRun.
