Running the NVIDIA GTC 2024 360 VR Demo

Now that the demo is up and running, you can access the web page in your browser to control it. As you navigate through the functions, you'll quickly grasp how to utilise the web page to manage the demo effectively. Following you can find a brief description of each function.

Usage

The web page is in charge of controlling the demo. To control it, the user can select the features they want to use. Once enabling the desired features the user can see a thumbnail of the output that will be displayed in the VR Headset. The complete layout of the page is as follows.

The web page can be divided into the following sections:

  • Setup Menu: This menu has a list of features available for the demo.
  • Play/Stop: This section provides the tools to execute or stop the GStreamer pipeline of the demo.
  • Thumbnail: A space where the user can see a snapshot of the video sent to the VR Headset.
  • Snapshot Button: This button activates a feature that refreshes the video thumbnail. When pressed, it captures a new snapshot of the video, updating the thumbnail to reflect the content at the precise moment of pressing.
  • Status: Brief text that explains the current status of the GStreamer pipeline.

Setup Menu

The user can select any of the features by clicking the switch. The blue light colour represents the enable status while the Gray button represents the disable status.

Play/Stop

Once you select your features, you can execute the demo by clicking the play button,

Once you want to run the pipeline again you can change the switches and press play again. Otherwise, when you want to stop the pipeline you can click the stop button when it is blue.

Thumbnail

When the pipeline executes without error, you will see a thumbnail of the capture in this space.

Snapshot Button

Once the pipeline runs, you will see that the snapshot button will change color.

Then whenever you click the button, it will refresh the thumbnail with a new snapshot the moment you press it.

Generative AI Agent

To use this feature you only need to write any question in the input box with the text prompt "Ask me anything". Once you complete your question you can click on the send button at the bottom right of the section.

Take into account, that the AI Agent will answer your question based on the snapshot shown on the webpage, so if you want to update the information, use the snapshot button before you can use this feature.

Status

This section will give you information about the demo. As default the button will be gray with the next text shown in the image.

When the demo is running you will see the next result.

When the demo gets an error you will see the message of the error and the red color in the indicator.

Finally, when the demo is loading any change you will see a flickering yellow indicator as follows.
