UART Connection Setup for Hailo-15
UART Connection Setup for Hailo-15
⚠ WARNING ⚠
Follow the steps detailed in this guide exactly as they are described and in the correct order. Failure to do so may cause damage to your hardware.
Step 1: Power Off the Board
Ensure the board is powered off before making any connections.
Step 2: Verify Jumper Settings on the Adapter Board
Before proceeding, confirm that the jumper on the adapter board is connected to the 1.8V position. If you are using a different UART adapter, locate the voltage control and set it to 1.8V. Using the incorrect voltage may cause damage to the device.
Step 3: Verify Cable Connections on the UART Adapter
Check the cable connections on the UART adapter side. Ensure that only the GND, Rx, and Tx ports are connected. Connecting the Vcc port may cause damage to the device.
Step 4: Verify Connections on the board side
Check the connections on the board side to ensure the following:
- Header pin 14 (in the fourth row, on pin 7 from top to bottom, shown in black in the image below) is connected to GND.
- Header pin 16 (in the fourth row, on pin 8 from top to bottom, board Rx, shown in green in the image below) is connected to the UART Adapter’s Tx.
- Header pin 18 (in the fourth row, on pin 9 from top to bottom, board Tx, shown in orange in the image below) is connected to the UART Adapter’s Rx.
Step 5: Final Check and Ready for Use
The board is now ready for use. Refer to the following image to ensure that all connections are correct:
