RidgeRun Low Latency Network Kit Introduction
RidgeRun Low Latency Network Kit RidgeRun documentation is currently under development. |
The RidgeRun Low Latency Network Kit is a RidgeRun project based on the Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK) by the Linux Foundation.
RLLN is currently under development. For now, only the leverage of DPDK is ready for Jetson, and most of the information from these wikis are related to DPDK leverage. Contact Us to know the status and/or sponsor features within RLLN.
Foundation
Through the use of DPDK, it is possible to leverage user-space applications to transmit/receive packages over the network with low latency and high throughput. DPDK makes it possible thanks to the Linux kernel bypass, allowing user-space applications to manage the network interface cards (NIC), as shown in the picture below:

Platforms Supported
RLLN aims to support embedded systems with DPDK-compatible external NICs. We have explored the following configurations:
- NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX
- Intel I210 1GbE
- Intel X520 10GbE
- NVIDIA Jetson Orin AGX
- Intel I210 1GbE
- Intel X520 10GbE
