What RidgeRun Is Offering
RidgeRun offers a test orchestration platform for validating Linux-based embedded products on real hardware. It helps teams manage devices, create project-specific tests, execute validation suites, and review results from a central dashboard.
The platform can be adapted to different hardware, software, interfaces, and validation requirements.
1. Test Orchestration Platform
The platform includes:
- A central service for managing devices, tests, suites, and results.
- A device agent that executes tests on the target hardware.
- A web dashboard for configuration and monitoring.
- A manifest format for defining reusable tests.
These components provide a consistent process for running and tracking embedded validation.
2. Custom Tests on Real Hardware
Customers can create tests for the functionality that matters to their products, including cameras, USB, networking, storage, GPIOs, sensors, drivers, and custom peripherals.
Each test can define its parameters, timeout, execution steps, and pass-or-fail conditions. Tests run directly on the embedded device, allowing them to validate interactions that unit tests and simulations cannot fully reproduce.
The device agent records the status, duration, output, errors, and final result of each execution.
3. Validation Management and Automation
From the dashboard, users can:
- Register and inspect devices.
- Configure tests and validation suites.
- Start and monitor validation runs.
- Review logs and results.
- Repeat previous runs.
Coming Soon: Planned capabilities include scheduled execution, CI/CD triggers, software updates, device reboots, external test systems, and email notifications.
4. Test Development Through Engineering Services
Customers can create and maintain their own tests.
Customers with an active RidgeRun Engineering Services subscription may request tests for features, drivers, integrations, and platform changes developed by RidgeRun under that subscription. Test development must be included in the agreed project scope.
This service does not include the complete validation of an unrelated existing product.
