GstOBUMetadata project consists of one plugin called GstOBU which has three elements, that allow inserting and extracting metadata into and from an AV1 stream, at a higher level, AV1 structures are packetized in Open Bitstream Units (OBU) and these units may contain metadata, the GstOBUMetadata project injects and extracts user metadata into these packets. Provides great flexibility as the video can be recorded or streamed in any way without losing information. One example application is to associate metadata to a specific video frame or send metadata and video together through a UDP connection.
