Vala - building from source
Getting source
It is recommend to use a tagged version of the code, such as 0.12 in the example below.
git clone git://git.gnome.org/vala git branch -r git checkout origin/0.12 -b rel_0.12 <pre> == Building == By default, `make install' will install all the files in `/usr/local/bin', `/usr/local/lib' etc. For Ubuntu, /usr is a better prefix. <pre> NOCONFIGURE=true ./autogen.sh ./configure prefix=/usr make <pre> == Find already installed vala on your host == <pre> whereis valac ls -d /usr/*/vala-* ls -ltr /usr/bin | fgrep vala
Installing updated version
valac --version sudo make install valac --version
